Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is seeking a Senior Associate in Transaction Advisory/Financial Due Diligence to join a collaborative, results‑driven team in Nashville. You will support core financial due diligence, analyze complex financial data, and help craft reports for clients across manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years of audit/FDD experience, strong US GAAP/SEC knowledge, and excellent Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–4 years of audit and financial due diligence experience at a top accounting firm, with at least 1 year in financial due diligence.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and/or related major; CPA preferred.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
• High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong communication and PM skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with core financial due diligence, helping to identify key risks and potential deal breakers, assess the strengths and weaknesses of the business against industry benchmarks, and aid in the evaluation of the potential transaction in the context of clients’ investment strategy.
• Analyze detailed financial statement information, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and key operational data, and synthesize meaningful information for client discussions.
• Assess the quality of the target company’s reported earnings, net assets and cash flows.
• After an investigative analysis, assist in constructing deal‑oriented reports and presentations for clients that highlight key financial, commercial and other findings, and clarify how such findings affect valuation, purchase/sale agreements, and negotiating points.
• Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management, client personnel, and serve as a secondary point of contact for day‑to‑day execution matters.
• Be actively involved in building and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development opportunities.
