Job summary

Travelers invites an Associate Senior Counsel to manage a challenging caseload in insurance defense, including major case matters. You will conduct research, draft substantive filings, and represent insured clients with strong advocacy.

The role covers a MA territory around Stockbridge, Ludlow, Longmeadow and Chicopee to best serve local clients. You will mentor less experienced attorneys and collaborate with partners to develop case strategies, while traveling as needed to support ongoing

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international law degree; graduate of an accredited law school.
• 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the relevant state(s).
• Regularly handles hearings, trials, dispositive motions and depositions; ability to transport to meetings.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of predominantly moderate to high exposure cases, including Major Case matters.
• Leverage pre-trial and trial experience to aim for verdicts or favorable resolutions.
• Conduct high-quality legal research and produce persuasive briefs and pleadings.
• Attend court events, depositions and related appointments independently.
• Mentor junior attorneys and share case strategies with internal stakeholders.
