Job summary

Heart Of Texas Goodwill Industries in Belton, TX seeks an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate daily retail operations. This role coaches staff, manages budgets, and ensures excellent customer service while supporting the organization's mission.

In this role you supervise shifts, oversee merchandising, inventory, and reporting, and step in as acting manager as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail experience including supervisory or team lead responsibilities.
• Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Ability to manage daily store operations, including inventory, merchandising, and staffing.
• Experience coaching and supporting team members to achieve performance goals.
• Familiarity with loss prevention, safety procedures, and adherence to company policies.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills; ability to handle escalated issues.
• Ability to support administrative tasks, scheduling, and achievement of store performance objectives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain merchandise volume and meet revenue goals.
• Manage workflow and facility layout for stock levels and efficiency.
• Maintain store presentation, organization, cleanliness, and signage.
• Operate within budgeted expenses; monitor costs relative to revenue.
• Safeguard company property and report incidents.
• Lead staffing levels; schedule to meet business needs.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train employees.
• Evaluate performance and address issues; provide feedback.
• Ensure professionalism and uphold values.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends.
