Job summary

Motorola Solutions (Silvus Technologies) seeks a Senior Business Development Engineer, US Army, reporting to the Directors of Applications Engineering. The role translates Army requirements into technically sound, field-ready solutions and demonstrates interoperability of our tactical portfolio to Army evaluators.

Travel up to 50% for meetings and demonstrations, with potential for 100% remote work depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing protocols, and tactical communication systems.
• Strong knowledge of US Army tactical procurement pathways and Army Futures Command priorities.
• Proficiency with RF instruments (signal generators, spectrum analyzers).
• Willingness to travel frequently (50%) to customer sites and DoD environments.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and Mission Command network design goals to map gaps to our capabilities.
• Conduct market research to identify end-to-end product solutions and potential partners.
• Design and build demonstrations tailored to the Army to show future network possibilities.
• Lead technical planning, network configuration, and field trials with BD and Applications Engineering teams.
• Engage Army program managers and warfare centers to translate tech into program requirements.
