Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Engineer for the US Army to translate Army requirements into technically sound, winnable solutions and demonstrate interoperability of our tactical communications portfolio to Army evaluation teams. You will collaborate with Engineering and Business Development teams to design demonstrations, lead field trials, and align roadmaps with Army needs.

This role offers up to 50% travel and potential 100% remote work depending on location,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with at least 5 years of relevant experience; or HS Diploma/GED with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing protocols, and tactical communication systems.
• Proficiency with RF instruments (signal generators, spectrum analyzers).

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and Mission Command network design goals to map operational gaps to our tactical radio capabilities.
• Conduct market research to identify end-to-end product solutions and synergies with emerging industry partners; collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to test and evaluate architectures.
• Design and build demonstrations tailored to the Army, highlighting future tactical edge network possibilities.
• Lead technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials and evaluations with BD and Applications Engineering teams.
• Collaborate to leverage large-scale testing and competitive benchmarking data to ensure architectures are sound.
• Engage Army program managers, S&T leads, and warfare centers to translate advanced technology capabilities into program requirements.
• Align with the Business Development team to set strategic priorities and support technical needs.
• Serve as technical anchor for RFI/RFP response, providing direction and ensuring proposal accuracy and alignment.
• Build trusted advisory relationships with Chief Engineers, SMEs, and technical evaluators across the Army.
• Translate Army feedback into actionable product roadmaps and track progress to meet operational needs.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
