Job summary

Ware Malcomb, a dynamic design firm, is seeking a Technical Specifications Writer to develop comprehensive project manuals for Architecture and Interior Design. You will partner with project teams to draft specifications, client masters, and support submittal reviews.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 15+ years in the field, including 5+ years writing specifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design (preferred).
15+ years in Architecture or Interior Design with at least 5 years writing specifications.
Experience with MasterSpec, Bluebeam, Word and Excel preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; public speaking is a plus.
Mentorship and leadership abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare comprehensive project manuals based on information provided by Management Teams.
Suggest alternate solutions when necessary.
Schedule periodic reviews for complex projects during document development.
Review comments with Management Team and respond to questions or concerns.
Take a mentorship approach when dealing with junior staff members.
Stay knowledgeable about products and industry standards and trends.
Be a general resource to the company in answering technical questions or providing opinions.
