Job summary

Ware Malcomb is seeking a Technical Specifications Writer to develop comprehensive project manuals for Architecture and/or Interior Design projects. You will collaborate with project teams to develop specifications and client-specific masters, supporting submittal review and ensuring quality and consistency firmwide.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design (preferred), 15+ years in the field with 5+ years writing specifications, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design (preferred).
• 15+ years in Architecture or Interior Design with at least 5 years writing specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Extensive experience in construction and construction materials.
• Experience using MasterSpec, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Ability to speak publicly to small to large groups is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive project manuals based on information provided by Management Teams.
• Suggest alternate solutions when necessary.
• Schedule periodic reviews for complex projects during document development.
• Review comments with Management Team and respond to questions or concerns.
• Mentor junior staff members.
• Stay knowledgeable about products, industry standards and trends.
• Be a general resource to the company in answering technical questions.
