Job summary

Ware Malcomb is seeking a Technical Specifications Writer in Miami to develop comprehensive project manuals and specifications for architecture and interior design projects. You will collaborate with project teams to support submittal reviews and ensure consistency across firmwide standards.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design, 15+ years in the field (5+ years writing specs), and advanced skills with MasterSpec, Bluebeam, Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
• Minimum 15 years in Architecture or Interior Design with at least 5 years writing specifications.
• Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive experience in construction and construction materials.
• Experience with MasterSpec, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Public speaking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive project manuals based on information provided by the Management Teams.
• Develop specifications and client-specific masters; support project teams with submittal review.
• Schedule periodic reviews for complex projects during document development.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
• Stay knowledgeable about products, codes and industry standards; answer technical questions.
