Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a Senior Architect with extensive experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences facilities to lead design efforts from concept to delivery. You will ensure GMP compliance, code interpretation, and seamless interdisciplinary coordination within an integrated design-build team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Active Registered Architect (RA) license in the U.S.
• 10+ years of architectural experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences facilities.
• Experience leading design teams in design-build delivery.
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and planning for complex pharma and life sciences projects including cGMP facilities and labs.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight to project teams to produce coordinated construction documents.
• Coordinate with process engineers, validation, C&Q, and other disciplines for holistic design.
• Interpret and apply IBC, NFPA, ADA/ABA codes in lab and production environments.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain GMP-focused design standards and cleanroom detailing.
• Lead peer reviews and QA/QC checks for compliance and constructability.
• Stay current with GMP trends, modular construction, and new manufacturing technologies.
• Travel to regional project sites as needed.
