Job summary

NELSON Worldwide is seeking a licensed Architect to lead Civic & Justice projects in Los Angeles. You will guide design through CD/CA, coordinate with clients and consultants, and mentor staff within a collaborative studio.

Responsibilities include developing concepts, managing construction documents, and ensuring compliance with life safety and ADA standards. A strong leadership and communication skillset is essential.

Qualifications

• Architectural licensure in at least one state.
• Minimum 7 years of industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
• Experience in Civic & Justice is required (e.g., courthouses, detention centers, municipal facilities).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SpecLink, Newforma, SketchUp, Photoshop and InDesign.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams through CD/CA phases.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Prepare and oversee Concept, Schematic, DD and Construction Documents.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and addenda.
• Attend project meetings and manage design challenges with the team.
• Maintain QA procedures and ensure code compliance.
