Job summary

ERM seeks a Principal Consultant, Archaeologist to lead complex cultural resources projects from a US office. You will guide project delivery, mentor staff, and strengthen client relationships across the United States in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The role focuses on technical excellence, project leadership, and business development within the Cultural Resources Services team. Domestic travel to field sites is required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6–8 years of related paid experience.
• RPA certification and SHPO-compliant qualifications.
• Demonstrated field oversight and principal-level leadership on projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a permitted BLM Principal Investigator.
• Obtain federal/state permits required to execute projects and support new opportunities.
• Provide QA/QC review of deliverables prepared by archaeologists.
• Oversee desktop studies and field investigations (reconnaissance, pedestrian surveys, testing, excavations).
• Lead, supervise, and develop archaeologists across experience levels; participate in hiring and training.
