Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Archaeologist to lead cultural resources programs across the United States. You will guide high‑impact projects, oversee field investigations, and mentor archaeologists while supporting business development and client service.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable solutions for energy and infrastructure clients, travel to field sites, and ensure regulatory compliance across projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6–8 years of related paid experience.
• Secretary of the Interior-qualified archaeologist listed as a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
• Demonstrated field experience and principal-level oversight for projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a permitted BLM Principal Investigator.
• Obtain BLM Cultural Resources Use Permits and other permits.
• Provide technical QA/QC of deliverables.
• Oversee desktop studies and field investigations.
• Lead, supervise, and manage archaeologists across experience levels.
• Coordinate with unit leads and managing partners to support delivery.
• Serve as signing PI or Task Manager for major studies.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on scope, budget, and schedule.
