Job summary

ERM seeks a Principal Consultant, Archaeologist to lead and deliver complex cultural resources projects across the United States. You will mentor teams, oversee field studies, and support client relationships and business development from a US-based ERM office.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, safety, schedule adherence, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in energy and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6–8 years of related paid experience.
• Secretary of the Interior-qualified archaeologist listed as an RPA meeting SHPO requirements.
• Demonstrated field experience and principal-level oversight for projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical QA/QC review of deliverables prepared by other archaeologists.
• Oversee desktop studies and field investigations, including surveys and testing.
• Lead archaeologists across experience levels, including hiring, mentoring and training.
