Job summary

CooperDouglas, in West Los Angeles, seeks an Accounting Operations Manager to lead a high-volume AR function and end-to-end retailer deductions. You will own the TPM system, drive process improvements, and partner with Sales, Operations and the global finance team.

You will build and mentor a team of five AR Specialists, ensure accurate billing and payment terms, and support audits while delivering authoritative leadership to cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with significant AR operations exposure.
• CPG, retailer deductions or trade promotion management experience required.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to dig into deduction data and derive insights.
• Strong Excel and systems skills with interest in automation and process improvement.
• Comfortable presenting to leaders and working cross-functionally.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large AR portfolio: collections, aging, DSO, cash application, unapplied cash, credit holds and escalation of at-risk balances.
• Own retailer deductions end to end: promotional billbacks, chargebacks, shortages and disputes.
• Administer the trade promotion management (TPM) system, including reporting and data quality.
• Partner with Sales, Operations and external partners to resolve claims and improve processes.
• Ensure billing, pricing and payment terms are accurate with Operations.
• Oversee reconciliations for DTC and marketplace platforms (Shopify, Amazon).
• Investigate EDI issues affecting orders, invoicing, deductions and payments.
• Build internal controls, SOPs and segregation of duties across order-to-cash.
• Coordinate AR month-end: cutoffs, reconciliations, accruals and reserve inputs; support audits.
• Lead, coach and develop five AR specialists; set priorities and handle complex issues.
