Job summary

CooperDouglas, partnering with a leading Southern California tech company, is hiring a Senior Accountant for an on-site role. You will own the month-end close, manage revenue recognition under US GAAP, and oversee AP/AR, invoicing, and expense tooling while transitioning work to a new team member.

The role emphasizes building revenue forecasts, supporting the first annual budget, and reducing reliance on external bookkeepers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close.
• Start-up or small-company experience building or improving processes.
• Some exposure to forecasting or budgeting.
• Self-starter who can run the role without a lot of direction.
• Comfortable with cloud accounting platforms and AP/expense tools, and curious about AI and new technology.
• Healthcare or tech experience is a plus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close.
• Handle revenue recognition and accruals under US GAAP.
• Run AP, AR, invoicing and expense/corporate card administration, and help transition the transactional work to a new team member.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Build and maintain the revenue forecast and help stand up the company's first annual budget.
• Help eliminate the reliance on an outside bookkeeper.
• Improve workflows with automation and AI-enabled tools; the company is open to new systems and may change its accounting platform.
• Support audit, tax and compliance work as the company grows.
