Job summary

Arabella Advisors seeks a Senior Billing Specialist in Durham, NC or Washington, DC, to join our Corporate Finance team. You will prepare accounts receivable information, manage invoicing and billing processes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve collections while supporting month-end close and audit schedules.

The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Preferred, or equivalent level of experience (5 years without degree).
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Understanding of accounting principles including accrual accounting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong work ethic; be well-organized and a self-starter.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skillset.
• Drive to raise process efficiency and collaborate on solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to report complex data clearly.
• Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with accounting software (Microsoft GP a plus).

Responsibilities

• Manage billing, invoicing, bookkeeping and journal entry processes including client intake, weekly and monthly invoicing, credit memos, and monthly reporting.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve collections issues.
• Monitor project costs.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely month-end close procedures and GL reconciliations related to accounts receivable.
• Assist with preparation of annual audit reconciliations and schedules.
• Support the Assistant Controller and Accounting Manager with special projects.
