Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to manage complex invoicing, subcontractor payments, and lien waiver administration in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will ensure accurate disbursements, maintain strong vendor relationships, and drive AP process improvements and automation initiatives.

This fully remote contract position offers growth opportunities and collaboration with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Accounting across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Senior or lead-level accounts payable experience.
• 2+ years in construction-specific AP with lien waivers.
• 2+ years of intermediate Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments with accuracy, verifying POs, vendor details, taxes, discounts, and coding.
• Review subcontractor invoices against POs and contracts, validating costs and retainage.
• Manage lien waiver and lien release process, collecting documentation for payments.
• Serve as primary contact for lien waiver administration and resolve documentation issues.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances and discrepancies.
• Research and resolve complex payment delays by tracing invoices and approvals.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Accounting to fix discrepancies.
• Use document management/workflow systems to route invoices for review and approval.
