Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist for a fully remote contract role based in Houston, TX. The position focuses on complex invoice processing, subcontractor payments, and lien waiver administration across multiple projects.

You will support process improvements and automation while maintaining strong vendor relationships. The role offers growth opportunities and flexibility, with a time-focused team schedule and central time alignment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of senior or lead-level accounts payable experience.
• 2+ years in a construction accounts payable environment with lien waivers.
• 2+ years of intermediate Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments with accuracy, verifying POs, vendor data, taxes, discounts, and coding.
• Review subcontractor invoices against POs and contracts, validating costs, retainage, and terms.
• Manage lien waiver and lien release processes, collecting required documentation.
• Serve as the primary contact for lien waiver administration and timely payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances and discrepancies.
• Research and resolve complex payment delays by tracing invoices and approvals.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Accounting to fix discrepancies.
• Use document workflows to route invoices for review and approval.
