Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist for remote work with a contract basis out of Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on complex invoice processing, subcontractor payments, and lien waiver administration within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

You will ensure accurate disbursements, maintain vendor relationships, and contribute to process improvements and AP automation initiatives across large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of senior or lead accounts payable experience.
• 2+ years in a construction-focused AP environment with lien waivers.
• 2+ years of intermediate Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments with accuracy, validating POs, vendor data, taxes, discounts and coding.
• Review subcontractor invoices against POs and contracts, validate costs, retainage, and payment terms.
• Manage lien waiver and lien release process, collecting required documentation and ensuring timely payments.
• Act as primary contact for lien waiver administration, following up on issues and resolving documentation gaps.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances and discrepancies.
• Investigate payment delays by tracing invoices, approvals, POs and supporting docs.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing and Accounting to resolve discrepancies and maintain records.
• Route invoices and documents using document management/workflow systems.
