Job summary

Kinder’s is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to lead the AP team, manage day-to-day payable operations, and ensure strong internal controls. The role supports month-end close, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

The position is based in Walnut Creek, California with a hybrid schedule (4 days in the office weekly and flexible Fridays). Strong analytical skills and ERP proficiency are essential to drive process improvements

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a lead role.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, three-way matching, and internal controls in high-volume, multi-entity environments.
• CPG/food & beverage or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily AP team huddles.
• Process invoices from receipt through coding, approval routing, publication and payment.
• Monitor AP activity including due dates, queues, and exceptions.
• Oversee high-volume invoice processing, vendor setup and changes, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and complete weekly check and payment runs; confirm payments are recorded.
• Review and approve new vendor accounts; respond to vendor inquiries.
• Assist with month-end close activities and accruals in accounts payable.
