Job summary

Kahana Feld seeks an Accounts Payable Manager in Carlsbad, CA to oversee vendor invoice processing, payments, reconciliations, and internal controls. This exempt, full-time role requires 5+ years in AP, supervision experience, and familiarity with legal accounting systems (Aderant). Hybrid work; travel up to 5-10%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible accounts payable or accounting experience, including supervision.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP controls, GL coding, reconciliations, and expense management.
• Experience with a legal accounting system such as Aderant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment and record retention.
• Review invoices for documentation, approvals, coding, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate payment runs and resolve vendor inquiries with proper approvals.
• Maintain vendor records and oversee tax docs and payment instructions.
• Reconcile AP records and support month/year-end close and audits.
• Supervise AP staff and manage workloads and performance.
• Collaborate with Billing and Finance on client/matter expenses and cost recovery.
• Develop processes to improve payment accuracy and processing times.
