Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Android Developer for a remote contract role. You will lead design, development, and maintenance of core Android apps, collaborating with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance experiences.

You will mentor junior and mid-level engineers, guide architectural decisions, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. W2 benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k matching, and life insurance are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Retrofit, Room, SQLite, and asynchronous data handling.
• Preferred: Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Preferred: Published apps on the Google Play Store.

Responsibilities

• Design & Build: Develop advanced, resilient Android apps from scratch or update large-scale codebases.
• Architecture: Own MVVM/MVP/Clean Architecture and adhere to SOLID principles.
• API Integration: Integrate RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Optimization & Quality: Profile performance, fix memory leaks, reduce crashes, run tests (JUnit/Espresso).
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Participate in Agile ceremonies, review code, mentor teammates.
• CI/CD & Deployment: Manage Git, contribute to CI/CD, support Google Play release management.
