Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Android Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of core Android applications. This remote contract role collaborates with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance experiences and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements include 5+ years Android, Kotlin/Java, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and REST APIs. We offer W2 or corp-to-corp options, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path to impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of Android mobile development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and local data storage (SQLite/Room).
• Published apps on Google Play preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced Android apps from scratch or improve large-scale codebases.
• Define architecture (MVVM, MVP, Clean) and apply SOLID principles.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Profile performance, fix memory leaks, reduce crashes/ANRs, and write tests with JUnit/Espresso.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, conduct code reviews, and mentor teammates.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and Google Play release processes.
