Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Android Developer for remote contract work to lead Android app design, development, and maintenance. You will collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable experiences and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Extensive experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Retrofit, Room, SQLite, and asynchronous data handling.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Preferred: Published apps on the Google Play Store.

Responsibilities

• Design & Build: Develop advanced Android applications from scratch or enhance large codebases.
• Architecture: Own MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture and apply SOLID design.
• API Integration: Connect to RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Optimization & Quality: Profile performance, fix crashes, and write tests with JUnit/Espresso.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• CI/CD & Deployment: Manage Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Google Play release workflows.
