Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead the Fable team’s Android development, shaping features and guiding the architectural roadmap. You will own end-to-end delivery, focusing on performance, stability, and a polished user experience for a top Books app.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, and QA to ship high-quality features, mentor teammates, and drive best practices across the Android stack, while embracing AI tools to boost velocity and quality.

Qualifications

5+ years of Android development experience shipping consumer apps at scale.
Proficient in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flows, and MVVM or MVI.
Strong focus on usability, accessibility, and performance.
Collaborates effectively with product, design and QA across teams.
Owns features from concept to release with long-term thinking.
Mentors teammates and shares knowledge.
Interested in applying AI coding tools to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

Design and build high-quality Android experiences.
Collaborate with product, design, QE, and engineers to deliver performant, intuitive interfaces.
Strengthen app architecture and performance.
Contribute to technical direction and development best practices for Fable Android.
Partner with engineers to improve code quality, test coverage, and release reliability.
Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and design discussions.
