Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Senior Android Engineer for the Fable team in the United States. You will lead Android development, shape architecture, and drive features from concept to release, delivering high quality experiences for a growing reader community.

You will collaborate across product, design, and QA, mentor teammates, and apply modern patterns (MVVM/MVI) with Kotlin/Jetpack Compose while exploring AI tooling to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Android development experience and shipping consumer apps at scale.
• Strong Kotlin skills with Jetpack Compose and modern Android patterns (MVVM/MVI).
• Usability, accessibility, performance mindset with a user-first approach.
• Cross‑functional collaboration with product, design and QA teams from concept to release.
• Mentoring, knowledge sharing, and long-term ownership of features.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-quality Android experiences for Fable.
• Collaborate with product, design, QE, and engineers to deliver performant features.
• Strengthen app architecture and performance; drive technical direction.
• Improve code quality, test coverage, and release reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to grow the team.
• Apply AI coding tools to boost development velocity and automation.
