Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Senior Android Engineer for the Fable team to lead Android development and shape the app's future.

You will drive architectural decisions, implement performance and stability improvements, and deliver high-quality experiences for a global audience. You will collaborate with product, design, and QA partners, mentor teammates, and apply modern Android patterns including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM/MVI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Android development experience, shipping consumer apps at scale.
• Strong Kotlin code; Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flows; MVVM or MVI architecture.
• Deep focus on usability, accessibility, performance and craft of UI.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-quality Android experiences.
• Collaborate with product, design, QE, and engineers to deliver performant features.
• Strengthen app architecture and performance.
• Contribute to technical direction and best practices for Fable on Android.
• Partner with engineers to improve code quality, test coverage, and release reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, mentorship and design discussions.
• Champion a user-first mindset in feature decisions.
