Scribd, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Android Engineer for the Fable team to shape Android experiences. You will lead development, drive architecture, and deliver polished features for the Fable app that helps users build reading habits and connect with readers.

You will own Android throughout the lifecycle, mentor teammates, and push for performance, usability, and scalable solutions while collaborating with product, design, and QA to align goals and tradeoffs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Android development with consumer apps at scale.
• Proficient in Kotlin and modern Android patterns.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flows.
• Strong focus on usability, accessibility and performance.
• Excellent collaboration with product, design, and QA.
• Ownership from concept to release; mentoring toward team growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-quality Android experiences.
• Collaborate with product, design, QE, and engineers for performant features.
• Strengthen app architecture and performance.
• Contribute to technical direction and development best practices.
• Partner with engineers to improve code quality, test coverage, and release reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
