Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Digital Android Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for Android development, guiding architecture and delivery of our flagship mobile banking app used by millions worldwide. You will set direction, elevate standards, and mentor Android talent.

In a hybrid role based in Irving, TX, you will lead end-to-end feature design, enforce code quality and performance, coach engineers, collaborate with product and backend teams, and optimize memory, battery, and

Qualifications

8+ years of professional experience building native Android applications.
Expert command of Kotlin and modern Android architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture, unidirectional data flow).
Deep knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and multi-module builds.
Experience with Jetpack libraries including Jetpack Compose at production scale.
Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues related to memory, rendering, and battery usage.
Track record of shipping or maintaining an app on Google Play Store with release quality.
Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Architect and lead end-to-end design and development of major features for Citi's Android app.
Set direction on Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android tech stack.
Define and enforce engineering standards for quality, testing, and performance.
Coach and mentor junior and mid-level Android engineers.
Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and backend engineers.
