Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a Senior Digital Android Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for Android development, leading the architecture and delivery of our flagship mobile banking application used by millions of customers globally.

You will drive technical direction, elevate engineering standards, mentor Android talent, and collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to translate complex requirements into robust mobile experiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of native Android experience with end-to-end lifecycle.
• Expert Kotlin and modern Android patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, unidirectional data flow).
• Deep knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle multi-module builds.
• Extensive experience with Jetpack libraries and Jetpack Compose.
• Diagnose and resolve memory, rendering, and battery issues in production apps.
• Shipping or maintaining an app on Google Play with release quality.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead end-to-end design and development of major features for Citi's Android app.
• Serve as the Android technical authority across the engineering function.
• Define and enforce standards for code quality, testing, and performance.
• Mentor junior and mid-level Android engineers to raise team capability.
• Collaborate with Product, UI/UX, and backend to translate requirements into robust mobile experiences.
• Optimize app performance across memory, battery, and runtime speed.
• Improve development processes, testing strategies, and delivery workflows.
• Assess risk to ensure security, compliance, and platform reliability.
