Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Digital Android Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of a flagship mobile banking app. You will serve as the Android authority, driving the modern tech stack (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) and setting standards for quality, testing, and performance.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and backend teams, and continually improve delivery velocity while ensuring security and reliability across global deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of native Android development experience.
• Proficient in Kotlin and modern Android architecture patterns.
• Deep knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio and Gradle.
• Extensive experience with Jetpack libraries including Compose.
• Ability to diagnose performance issues in production apps.
• Track record shipping apps on Google Play Store.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead end-to-end design of major Android features.
• Set direction on Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern stack.
• Define engineering standards for quality, tests, and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, UI/UX, and backend teams to deliver mobile experiences.
• Optimize memory, battery, and runtime performance across devices.
• Improve development processes and release workflows to boost velocity.
• Assess risk and ensure security, compliance, and reliability.
