Job summary

Citi is seeking a Digital Software Engineering Lead to drive large-scale application development and architectural direction in Irving, Texas. You will guide cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and ensure best practices across the SDLC.

The role requires 6–10 years in apps development or enterprise architecture, with strong Java/Swift/Kotlin skills and cloud experience (AWS/PCF/Akamai). This is a full‑time on‑site position in Irving.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in an Apps Development role or senior level experience in an Enterprise Architecture role with subject matter expert in one or more areas.
• Swift, Kotlin, Java, Automation.
• Expertise across cloud platforms including AWS, PCF, Akamai.
• Lead resources and serve as a functional SME across the company through advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, networking.

Responsibilities

• Execute and drive results on large-scale projects as development lead, with expertise in design, coding, testing, and implementation.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of client core business functions.
• Support end-user consultation to identify system requirements and incorporate them into design and delivery.
• Work independently with TPMs and engineering managers to assess risks to schedule.
• Plan and manage large cross-functional application development assignments and budgets.
• Communicate risks to business owners to enable informed decisions.
• Provide architectural guidance during preplanning and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Publish design review extensions and align to sprint plans and timelines.
• Contribute to design reviews for NGA and Plan of Record projects and promote patterns.
• Mentor SDEs and coaching teams; understand business domain and system boundaries.
• Drive long-term strategies influencing development processes and standards.
• Lead design and code reviews across NGA projects and promote Design Patterns.
• Provide architectural guidance in line with CTO guidelines and platform.
• Deliver clear metrics on design reviews, CI/CD, and design pattern adoption.
• Communicate progress, identify bottlenecks, escalate issues, and resolve conflicts.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
