Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems seeks a Sr. Software Analyst for the DATUM team to own functional software scope from sales to delivery. You will craft Level 2 SDS, attach firm estimates to proposals, and guide design workshops with customers and internal teams.

You will travel up to 50% for discovery, design reviews, and commissioning, while collaborating with Solutions Software to ensure scope alignment and successful software delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development or systems analysis for WES/WCS or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• Experience writing design specifications and integration documents for development teams.
• Understanding of material handling automation and where WES/WCS sits between WMS/ERP and PLC controls.
• Hands-on experience specifying integrations (REST/APIs, messaging, flat files, EDI).
• Ability to estimate software scope, state assumptions, and defend numbers.

Responsibilities

• Develop Level 2 SDS expanding Level 1 SDS and guidance for customer proposals.
• Build firm estimates for software scope at contract stage.
• Collaborate with Solutions Software through L1 to L2 transition to align scope delivered with scope sold.
• Lead design workshops with customers and stakeholders; support kick-offs.
• Conduct onsite discovery to validate requirements and existing systems.
• Lead Scrum ceremonies and manage the project backlog.
• Define IT/network specs and integration specifications between DATUM and host systems.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites for discovery and commissioning.
