Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver software products such as DATUM (WES/WCS). You will mentor developers, lead design and development across an event-driven microservices stack, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance the product roadmap.

You’ll work with Linux, open-source frameworks, and modern tooling to deliver backend services, integrations, AI features, and user interfaces, with approximately 15% travel to

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in industrial software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with open-source software frameworks and related development tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the VP of Software to develop and execute software product strategies and roadmap.
• Design, develop, and improve DATUM to support customer needs and product growth.
• Provide full stack design and development across an event-driven microservices architecture.
• Use modern open-source frameworks to build backend services, integrations, AI capabilities, and user interfaces.
• Lead design and development activities for customer projects and R&D initiatives using Agile practices.
• Mentor entry-level and mid-level developers and Software Delivery team members.
• Support commissioning at customer sites with ~15% travel.
• Contribute across development, implementation, support, and IT activities as needed.
• Evaluate performance data to identify improvements and adapt team practices.
• Stay current on technologies and industry developments.
