Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems seeks a Sr. Software Analyst on the DATUM team to own the functional definition of our software scope, translating what we sell into what we build. This is a new role created to close the gap between sales and software.

You will collaborate from presales through proposal, the Level 2 SDS, and ROM estimates to delivery, with travel up to 50% and daily partnership with the Development lead as the design matures into working software.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development, systems analysis, or technical project delivery for WES/WCS, WMS, or industrial software.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Level 2 SDS expanding on Level 1 SDS to attach to the customer proposal.
• Build firm estimates for software scope at contract, converting ROM-level numbers into committed hours and deliverables.
• Partner with Solutions Software through L1 to L2 transition to surface gaps and risks early.
• Support in person project kick-offs and lead design workshops with customers and stakeholders.
• Conduct onsite discovery at customer facilities to validate requirements and existing systems.
• Participate in and/or lead project Scrum ceremonies and manage the backlog; keep SDS updated with the Dev lead.
• Author 3rd-party integration specs for subsystems (print/apply, robotics, sortation, scales, etc.).
• Define IT and network specs, including server, virtualization, hardware, and security needs.
• Travel to customer sites up to 50% for discovery, reviews, and commissioning support.
