Job summary
Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance the DATUM WES/WCS stack, guiding design, development, and delivery across back-end services, integrations, AI, and UIs.
You’ll mentor engineers, work in an event-driven microservices environment, and travel ~15% to customer sites for commissioning. This role partners with senior leadership to shape product strategy and ensure high-quality software deliverables.
Qualifications
- Five+ years of experience in industrial software development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Eng, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience with open-source frameworks and related development tools.
- Proficient with Linux CLI and OS services/configurations.
- Proficient with modern IDEs and Git; Jira or Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute software product strategies and roadmaps with leadership.
- Design, develop, and improve WES/WCS DATUM to meet customer needs.
- Provide full stack design across an event-driven microservices architecture.
- Lead design and development for customer projects and R&D initiatives.
- Mentor entry- and mid-level developers and support commissioning at customer sites (15% travel).
