Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required with professional coder certification.
• AHIMA/AAPC credentials maintained annually.
• 2+ years of professional/ambulatory coding experience.
• Proficient in CPT and ICD-10-CM coding; knowledge of LCD/NCD helpful.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT and ICD-10 Edits for Professional Services following guidelines.
• Analyze and correct CCI Edits and Medical Necessity accounts.
• Adhere to coding ethics per AAPC/AHIMA and internal policies.
• Maintain performance in coding quality and productivity as per Optum360.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when needed.
• Stay current with coding knowledge via QM Manager and Director guidance.
• Participate in coding department meetings and educational events.
• Handle additional duties as assigned by management.
