Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimize security controls protecting enterprise web applications, APIs, and internet-facing services. You will work with cross‑functional teams to strengthen the digital perimeter, respond to threats, and improve security operations while supporting a rotating on-call schedule.

The role emphasizes hands-on management of Akamai and Imperva security technologies, incident response, and collaboration on CI/CD security

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise web application, API, or edge security.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Akamai security technologies or comparable platforms.
• 3+ years knowledge of WAF, bot management, DDoS, HTTP/S, DNS, TLS, and Linux environments.
• 2+ years analyzing security telemetry, identifying attack patterns, and implementing countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Akamai security technologies (WAF, Bot Manager, DDoS protections).
• Administer Imperva Website Security configurations and integrations.
• Design and maintain security controls for web apps, APIs, and internet-facing services.
• Configure and tune WAF protections, rate limiting, IP/geography controls, and API protections.
• Develop bot mitigation controls using behavioral analysis and automated enforcement.
• Investigate and mitigate DDoS, credential stuffing, and account takeover threats.
• Monitor security telemetry and investigate incidents; provide escalation support.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate security into CI/CD and delivery processes.
