Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Air Quality Project Manager to join our Environmental Team in guiding air permitting, regulatory compliance, and dispersion modeling for industrial and energy clients across the U.S.

The role emphasizes nationwide project leadership, senior technical review, and mentoring of engineers and scientists within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science.
• 10+ years of experience in air quality permitting, dispersion modeling, regulatory compliance, and environmental consulting.
• Strong expertise in PSD, NSR, Title V permitting, emissions inventories, and regulatory compliance evaluations.
• Advanced experience using AERMOD and other air quality modeling platforms such as CALPUFF.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex air quality permitting, compliance, and modeling projects for industrial and energy sector clients nationwide.
• Manage project delivery, including scope development, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, resource allocation, quality assurance, and risk management.
• Serve as a senior technical reviewer and subject matter expert for air quality analyses, emissions inventories, regulatory assessments, and permit applications.
• Provide strategic guidance on NSR, PSD, Title V, state permitting programs, emissions regulations, and emerging regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary client relationship manager for key accounts, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnerships.
• Lead business development efforts, including client engagement, proposal development, strategic pursuits, and expansion of existing client relationships.
• Collaborate with national and regional leadership to support practice growth initiatives and market expansion.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, scientists, meteorologists, and project managers through technical guidance and leadership.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across WSP business lines to deliver integrated environmental and engineering solutions.
• Represent WSP before regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and professional associations.
