Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Environmental Air Quality Modeler to join the Environmental Team. The role focuses on complex air quality permitting, compliance, and modeling projects for industrial clients across the United States. Candidates may be based in any U.S. office, with Columbus, Ohio as a preference.

You will lead dispersion modeling, regulatory analyses, and client engagements while mentoring staff and contributing to growth of the Air Quality practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, Environmental Science, or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in air quality permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental consulting.
• Experience with air dispersion modeling, NSR/PSD/Title V permitting, and regulatory compliance evaluations.
• PSD modeling experience with AERMOD.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state air quality regulations and emerging programs.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Word).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support air quality permitting, compliance, and regulatory projects for industrial clients.
• Prepare and review NSR/PSD and other air permit applications.
• Perform emissions calculations and air regulatory analyses.
• Conduct air dispersion modeling analyses using AERMOD and CALPUFF where needed.
• Prepare regulatory compliance reports (semi-annual/annual).
• Provide strategic guidance on regulations and client solutions.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality environmental solutions.
• Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Build client relationships through responsive technical support.
• Support business development and proposal preparation.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the Air Quality practice growth.
