Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced Environmental Air Quality Modeler to join our Environmental Team. The role focuses on air quality permitting, modeling, and regulatory analyses for industrial clients across the United States.

You will lead dispersion modeling with AERMOD, manage project scopes and budgets, mentor junior staff, and contribute to client engagement and proposals. Location flexibility within US offices is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, Environmental Science, or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in air quality permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental consulting.
• Experience with air dispersion modeling, NSR, PSD, nonattainment permitting, and Title V.
• Experience performing PSD modeling using AERMOD.
• Strong understanding of federal and state air quality regulations and policies.
• Excellent writing, communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support air quality permitting, compliance, and regulatory projects for industrial clients.
• Prepare and review NSR, PSD, and other air permit applications.
• Conduct air dispersion modeling analyses using AERMOD and other platforms.
• Perform emissions calculations and air regulatory analyses.
• Prepare regulatory compliance reports on various frequencies.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development activities.
