Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the AI Security team. Based in Menlo Park, CA and Bellevue, WA, you will lead building a scalable AI security platform, with strong emphasis on identity, authentication, authorization, and encryption.

You will partner with security and engineering teams to deliver reusable platform capabilities, APIs, and tooling, shaping the AI security strategy as the team grows. This role requires extensive experience and hands-on platform work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 6+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with security in mind.
• Experience building AI platforms, AI infrastructure, or production AI systems.
• Proficiency in Go or Python with production debugging skills.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and distributed systems tech (AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, Kafka).
• Strong security fundamentals and ability to incorporate security into production designs.
• Experience designing reusable platform capabilities, APIs, libraries, or developer tooling.
• Proven track record delivering large engineering projects with impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a scalable AI platform for security teams to develop and operate AI-powered agents.
• Build platform services, APIs, libraries, and SDKs to integrate AI into security workflows.
• Design secure systems with identity, authentication, authorization, encryption controls.
• Operate large-scale distributed systems for AI-powered security use cases.
• Develop platform guardrails enabling safe AI agent development and operation.
• Collaborate with security, infra, and engineering teams to translate needs into reusable capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability, and security through automation.
• Help shape the technical direction of the AI Security platform as it grows.
