Job summary

Robinhood Markets, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the AI Security team to lead the development of a scalable AI security platform.

You will build foundational services, APIs, and tools to enable security teams to design, deploy, and operate AI-powered agents with strong security controls. You will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to translate needs into reusable platform capabilities, shaping the technical direction as the platform grows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 6+ years building large-scale distributed systems with security focus (authentication, authorization, identity, encryption).
• Experience building AI platforms or production AI systems.
• Proficiency in Go or Python with strong debugging skills.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, Kafka).
• Strong security fundamentals and integrating security into production designs.
• Experience designing reusable platform capabilities and developer tooling.
• Proven track record delivering large engineering projects with lasting impact.
• Strong technical judgment balancing security, reliability, scalability, and DX.
• Ability to collaborate across security and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a scalable AI platform for security teams to develop, deploy, and operate AI-powered agents and capabilities.
• Build core platform services, APIs, libraries, and SDKs to integrate AI into security workflows.
• Design secure systems with strong identity, authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection controls.
• Build and operate reliable, large-scale distributed systems for AI-powered security use cases.
• Develop platform capabilities and guardrails for safe AI agent operation.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to translate needs into reusable platform features.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, developer experience, reliability, and security via automation.
• Influence technical direction and architecture of Robinhood’s AI Security platform as it grows.
