Job summary

Samsara is seeking an AI security engineer at the intersection of security engineering and applied AI. You will use frontier AI models to identify vulnerabilities across cloud, software, and firmware before attackers do, and help define guardrails for safe AI adoption.

This role reports to the AppSec team and shapes Samsara's AI security strategy. Location flexibility is offered; candidates nationwide in the US are welcome, with certain metro areas not applicable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, offensive security, or a closely related discipline.
• Hands-on experience building AI or agentic workflows for security use cases.
• Experience conducting technical security assessments across software and hardware/firmware environments.
• Experience in creating solutions for secure code with engineers using languages such as GoLang.
• Experience developing AI and agentic solutions using Github, and developing within AWS cloud.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate security assessments of Samsara's software, code, and firmware against AI-driven attacks.
• Translate AI security findings into Samsara-specific fixes for the application security layer.
• Find AI-specific and traditional vulnerabilities (e.g., injection, IDOR) and validate them.
• Build and test AI-enabled security tooling and drive adoption across security org.
• Define release criteria and guardrails for adopting frontier models in security tasks.
