Job summary

Amazon’s AWS Forward Deployed Engineering embeds AI engineers inside strategic enterprise customers to build production AI systems. We seek a Senior Security Engineer to own the security of these deployments and embed with delivery teams.

You will conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and build reusable tooling to scale security across AI pipelines, while integrating security into CI/CD and data isolation practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of security design reviews, threat modeling, and mitigation experience.
• 5+ years identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in common languages.
• Knowledge of at least two languages among Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience with threat modeling and penetration testing or strong analytical/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security design reviews, threat modeling, and architecture assessments for production AI systems.
• Embed with FDE delivery teams; assess infrastructure security posture and implement controls.
• Build security automation and tooling: scanning, testing, monitoring for forward-deployed AI systems.
• Implement controls for AI-specific threats: prompt injection, model endpoint hardening, data protection.
• Integrate security into FDE engineering workflows: CI/CD security gates, secrets management, dependency scanning, container security.
• Triage and respond to security incidents in production AI systems and monitor AI security signals.
• Document solutions as reusable patterns, playbooks, and architectural guidance.
• Requires up to 25% travel.
