Job summary

SmarterDx is hiring a senior Security Engineer to own AI-security and threat-detection programs across cloud and product workloads. You’ll shape guardrails for agentic access, secure AI/ML pipelines, and drive the Panther detection platform with a focus on high-signal detections as the team scales.

You will mentor engineers, publish security standards for adoption by other teams, and lead incident-response readiness with tabletop exercises.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security and software engineering with hands-on AWS/cloud-native infra
• Proven track record leading cross-team security initiatives
• Expertise securing AI/LLM apps, agentic security, and prompt-injection defenses
• Strong writing/communication; capable of explaining complex designs to non-security audiences

Responsibilities

• Own AI and agentic security guardrails for cloud/data access and ML workloads
• Publish and drive adoption of the AI-security standard across engineering
• Own Panther detection platform and coverage across cloud/container/SaaS log sources
• Lead incident-response readiness, playbooks, and tabletop exercises tied to HIPAA breach timelines
• Mentor teammates, raise interview/hiring standards, and grow security depth
• Build security automation to extend a small team’s reach and tooling
