Job summary

Abnormal AI, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to own architecture and correctness of security systems in our AWS-based cloud.

You will blend deep security expertise with AI-driven delivery, directing Terraform modules, prototype detection logic, and integrations while maintaining judgment on what ships. You will lead threat modeling, review security architectures for new product features, and drive scalable preventative controls with IaC.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery in security engineering or infrastructure security roles.
• Deep knowledge of native AWS services and IAM patterns.
• Strong scripting and dev fundamentals (Python/Go) and infra automation.
• Experience directing AI coding/agent tools with sound judgment.
• Expertise integrating tooling for SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability management, CSPM.
• Experience deploying security controls via IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation) in AWS.
• Ability to analyze logs and contribute to incident workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead threat modeling and security design discussions with platform/product teams.
• Review security architecture for new features, focusing on data exposure and access control.
• Build scalable preventative controls in AWS via IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Uplift security tooling across cloud-native and AI-assisted capabilities.
• Mentor engineers to leverage AI for security and automation tasks.
• Prototype automation for signal correlation and alert enrichment with AI.
• Architect and validate integrations between AWS and security tools (SIEM/SOAR).
• Contribute hands-on during security incidents and drive root-cause analysis.
