Job summary

Panorama Education is seeking a Senior AI Security Engineer to own the security of its internal AI systems, tooling, and external services. You will lead threat modeling, design controls, and build tooling to enable safe AI adoption while protecting student data.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into the AI platform, review third‑party AI tools, and align governance with privacy and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience with production systems.
• Direct experience securing AI systems, including LLM integrations and AI-powered workflows.
• Commitment to protecting student data and the mission of serving students and educators.
• Experience evaluating or governing third‑party AI tools and services for data privacy and vendor risk.
• Strong grounding in application and data security: threat modeling, access control, secrets management, and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Proven ability to build security programs, processes, or standards from scratch.
• Comfort operating in evolving tools and risks with a structured approach.
• Collaborative working style that brings teams along.

Responsibilities

• Secure Panorama's internal AI infrastructure and guardrails.
• Perform threat modeling for AI-specific risks and attack surfaces.
• Design controls for logging, auditing, and validating AI outputs.
• Build security tooling and automated checks for AI adoption without slowing down teams.
• Review external AI tools, APIs, and SaaS integrations before internal adoption.
• Evaluate data handling practices and vendor risk for third-party AI services.
• Establish standards for integrating external model providers and AI-powered tools.
• Embed security into the internal AI platform and partner with engineering/product teams.
• Collaborate with IT on identity, access, and device controls intersecting with AI systems.
• Be an active member of the security squad shaping Panorama's security approach.
