Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Principal AI Security Architect & Engineering to lead security strategy for AI across our enterprise and product portfolio.

The role combines deep cybersecurity expertise with hands-on AI security, shaping governance, architecture, and controls for safe AI adoption. Work with cross-functional teams, drive threat modeling, implement secure-by-design practices, and advance AI security capabilities while protecting customers, data, and IP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in cybersecurity or security architecture roles.
• 2+ years with AI-enabled systems, ML environments, or generative AI.
• Experience securing agentic systems, AI platforms, and non-human identities.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead AI security strategy, architecture, and governance.
• Design and implement security controls across AI lifecycle and agent ecosystems.
• Develop governance for privacy, transparency, and ethics in AI use.
• Lead AI threat modeling, security reviews, and risk assessments.
