Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Principal, AI Security Architecture & Engineering to serve as the senior technical authority for AI security.

You will define security architecture, governance, and operational practices to enable safe adoption of AI across the enterprise and product portfolio. The role requires deep cybersecurity expertise and hands-on experience securing agentic AI ecosystems, with collaboration across Legal, Privacy, Engineering, and Product teams to protect customers, data, and IP

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, cloud security, IAM, application security, or related technical discipline.
2+ years of experience working with AI-enabled systems, ML environments, automation platforms, or generative AI technologies.
Hands-on experience securing or building agentic systems, AI orchestration platforms, non-human identities, model integrations, retrieval pipelines, and automated workflows.
Experience implementing security controls for cloud platforms, APIs, identity services, secrets management, data protection, logging, and third-party integrations.

Responsibilities

Define and lead enterprise AI security strategy, architecture, policies, standards, and multi-year roadmap.
Design and implement security controls across AI and agent lifecycles including identity governance and memory isolation.
Establish guardrails for generative AI platforms, model integrations, APIs, plugins, and automation workflows.
Develop governance controls for privacy, data protection, explainability, and bias mitigation.
